Build an economical and versatile layered LED Tape light system using Basics or Gemini. Basics & Gemini LED tape lights are easy-to-setup with seamless and scalable run lengths, sharing power supplies and components. Basics LED Tape delivers precision and performance with two selectable power outputs and five selectable color temperatures from warm 2700K to cool 5000 Kelvin. Gemini is a continuous phosphorus (COB) tape that eliminates unsightly diode imaging and great for applications where the LED Tape Light is reflected or in direct sight.

  • Smooth and continuous dimming with an electronic low voltage dimmer (ELV), TRIAC or 0-10V (0-10V only available with PS-24DC-U power Supply). Dimmers should be installed on the primary side of the transformer. Driver input voltage: 120V-220V-277V AC, Driver output voltage: 24V DC. Driver is available in a 288W max load.

1) Which WAC power supplies does the T24-BS-EX2 cable work with?
Use it with the universal input PS-24DC-U supply (120/220/277V in, 24V DC out), where the T24-BS-EX2 lead wire is required. If you are running the 120VAC EN-BT60 power supply instead, that one already includes its own lead wire, so this extension is only needed when you want extra distance.
2) Can this WAC extension cable be run inside a wall?
Yes. The Basics and Gemini 24VDC power extension cable is in-wall rated, so it can be concealed in wall construction between the driver location and the start of the tape run. It is an indoor part, damp location rated and IP20.
3) Will this cable work with both Basics and Gemini tape light, or do I need a different lead for each?
One cable covers both. Basics and Gemini share power supplies and components, and the T24-BS-EX2-480 is the 24VDC extension for either family. That matters if you are mixing the two in a layered run: Basics for selectable output and color temperature, Gemini COB where the tape is visible or reflected and you do not want diode imaging.
4) Does anything come in the box with the T24-BS-EX2-480, or do I need separate connectors?
The cable ships with one LED-T-B connector and a screwdriver, so you can terminate to the tape without buying a separate connector for that joint. Additional cuts and reconnections in the run need their own connectors: Basics tape can be cut every 4 inches, Gemini every 2 inches.
5) Will using a long 40 foot extension cable affect how the tape light dims?
Dimming is handled on the line side, not through this cable. Basics and Gemini dim with an ELV, TRIAC, or 0-10V control (0-10V only with the PS-24DC-U supply), and the dimmer goes on the primary side of the transformer. The extension only carries the 24V DC output from the driver to the first tape section.
6) Does this WAC tape light cable meet California Title 24 and ADA requirements for a commercial job?
Yes on both. The Basics and Gemini 24VDC extension cable is CEC Title 24 compliant and ADA compliant, and it is UL and cUL Listed for damp locations at IP20. Useful if you are specifying cove or task lighting into a California or institutional project.
