Build an economical and versatile layered LED Tape light system using Basics or Gemini. Basics & Gemini LED tape lights are easy-to-setup with seamless and scalable run lengths, sharing power supplies and components. Basics LED Tape delivers precision and performance with two selectable power outputs and five selectable color temperatures from warm 2700K to cool 5000 Kelvin. Gemini is a continuous phosphorus (COB) tape that eliminates unsightly diode imaging and great for applications where the LED Tape Light is reflected or in direct sight.

  • Smooth and continuous dimming with an electronic low voltage dimmer (ELV), TRIAC or 0-10V (0-10V only available with PS-24DC-U power Supply). Dimmers should be installed on the primary side of the transformer. Driver input voltage: 120V-220V-277V AC, Driver output voltage: 24V DC. Driver is available in a 288W max load.

1) Will this extension cable work with WAC Basics tape light and Gemini COB tape light both?
Yes, both. Basics and Gemini share power supplies and components, and the T24-BS-EX2-072 is the 24VDC extension cable for either tape. Basics is a discrete-diode tape with selectable outputs and five color temperatures from 2700K to 5000K; Gemini is a continuous phosphor (COB) tape for places where the strip is seen directly or in a reflection. The cable does not care which you ran.
2) Which WAC power supplies does the T24-BS-EX2 lead wire pair with?
With the universal input PS-24DC-U supply (120/220/277V in, 24V DC out), the T24-BS-EX2 lead wire is required. If you are using the 120VAC EN-BT60 supply instead, lead wire is already included and you do not need to add this cable for the connection itself, only for added distance.
3) Can I run this extension cable in a damp location like a bathroom cove or a covered soffit?
It is UL and cUL Listed for damp locations and IP20 rated, and the rating is indoor only. Damp covers an interior cove, soffit or bath ceiling that sees humidity. IP20 means no protection against water jets or dripping, so do not put it anywhere exposed to weather or direct spray.
4) Does the extension cable affect how the tape light dims?
No. Dimming is handled on the primary side of the transformer, using an ELV, TRIAC or 0-10V dimmer (0-10V only with the PS-24DC-U supply). The extension cable sits on the 24V DC secondary side between supply and tape, so it is not where the dimmer goes. Driver input is 120/220/277V AC with 24V DC output, up to 288W max load.
5) What comes in the box with the 72 inch WAC power extension cable?
One LED-T-B connector and a screwdriver ship with the cable. The tape light, the power supply and the dimmer are all separate line items.
6) Does using WAC Basics or Gemini tape with this cable keep a project Title 24 and ADA compliant?
The Basics and Gemini system is CEC Title 24 and ADA compliant, and the components are Energy Star listed, which is what matters on California projects and on accessibility-reviewed work. That holds for the system this 24V extension cable is part of.
7) Can I cut the tape light to length and still use this extension cable to feed it?
Yes. Basics tape can be field cut every 4 inches and Gemini every 2 inches, then reconnected with WAC's secure connectors. The extension cable feeds the start of the run, so trimming the tape downstream does not change how you power it. The included LED-T-B connector is what makes the cable-to-tape joint.
8) I need the cable to disappear against a white ceiling. What finishes does the 72 inch WAC extension cable come in?
