WAC Lighting 5" Downtown LED Flush Mount FM-W47205

Go Downtown with this new interior or exterior LED ceiling mount from dweLED by WAC. Sophisticated style in a sleek exterior downlight. Dimmable, functional and endowed with the latest ACLED technology. Ideal for illuminating an atrium, covered porch, patio or other outdoor spaces. Available in a round or square profile in a bold black or matte white finish. This 5-inch ceiling mounted flush mount illuminates with LEDs manufactured with a high 90 color rendering index. Order with your desired color temperature and use the built-in color temperature adjustability switch to adjust from soft white 3000K, to bright white 3500K, or 4000K white daylight. Downtown operates on a 120 volt system and delivers up to 500 or more lumens. The LEDs have a very long 54,000 hours or rated life. The LED luminaire is ETL and cETL listed for wet locations. This luminaire is California Title 24 rated and meets the highest energy efficient requirements. Dims nicely with an electronic low voltage or TRIAC dimming system. Sophisticated and sleek.
  • Available in a cylindrical (FM-W47205) or square (FM-W47206) aluminum body construction and acrylic diffuser with a regressed lens that creates superior glare control.
  • Downtown is wet location listed - can be used indoor or outdoor. Can be mounted on a wall or ceiling to suit any application.
  • AC LED technology - no driver or transformer required. Easily fits on a pancake junction box. Tri-CCT technology features a switch inside the canopy that is accessible during installation and allows you to toggle color temperatures between 3000K Warm White - 3500K White - 4000 Cool White to find and set the perfect color temperature for your space. This fixture is factory pre-set to the CCT ordered and can be modified in the field with the flick of a switch.
  • Smooth and continuous dimming with electronic low voltage ELV or TRIAC dimmer options.

WAC Lighting WAC-FM-W47205 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can the WAC Downtown FM-W47205 flush mount be installed outdoors on a covered porch or exposed soffit?
Yes. The Downtown 5-inch LED flush mount is wet location rated and ETL and cETL listed, with an IP65 rating, so it can go on an exposed exterior ceiling or wall as well as indoors. Mounting is ceiling or wall, so the same fixture covers a porch soffit, a patio ceiling, or an interior hall.
2) Does the FM-W47205 need a separate LED driver or remote transformer?
No. The Downtown uses AC LED technology, so there is no driver or transformer to locate. It wires directly to a 120V branch circuit and fits on a pancake junction box, which is what makes it workable in a shallow soffit where there is no room for a driver.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC Downtown 5 inch LED flush mount?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer. Those are the two control types this fixture supports; a standard incandescent-only leading-edge switch outside those families is not the right choice, and 0-10V or DALI controls are not supported.
4) I ordered the 3000K version but the space feels too warm. Can the color temperature be changed after it ships?
Yes. There is a Tri-CCT switch inside the canopy, reachable during installation, that toggles between 3000K warm white, 3500K white, and 4000K cool white. The fixture arrives factory pre-set to the CCT you ordered and can be flipped in the field, so a single part number can be standardized across a property and tuned per area.
5) Does this WAC flush mount meet California Title 24 for outdoor residential lighting?
Yes, the Downtown is Title 24 compliant and also Title 20 listed, and it is Dark Sky. For a California job that specification matters more than the lumen number, since a non-compliant exterior luminaire fails inspection outright. Note it is not Energy Star listed.
6) How much light does the 12W Downtown FM-W47205 put out, and how far apart should they be spaced?
The fixture draws 12W at 120V and is rated at 900 lumens with a flood beam distribution and a regressed acrylic lens for glare control. Flood output from a 5-inch downlight at that lumen level suits general ambient coverage on a porch or walkway ceiling rather than accent or long-throw work.
7) What are the actual dimensions of the Downtown FM-W47205, and will it clear a low soffit?
It measures 5 inches in diameter and 4.5 inches in height. That 4.5 inch projection off the surface is what to check against head clearance under a low porch ceiling or a tight stair soffit.
8) Is the round FM-W47205 the same fixture as the square FM-W47206?
Same Downtown family, different profile. FM-W47205 is the cylindrical body; FM-W47206 is the square one. Both use an aluminum body with a regressed diffuser. Pick by how it reads against the architecture, since the performance story is the same family.
9) Can the LED be replaced in the Downtown FM-W47205 when it fails?
No. It is an integrated LED, one light source, supplied with the fixture, rated at 54,000 hours average life. There is no lamp to relamp, so plan on fixture replacement at end of life rather than a bulb stock item.
10) Is the FM-W47205 ADA compliant for a wall mount in a corridor?
No, it is not ADA compliant. With a 4.5 inch height it projects too far for an ADA-restricted wall location in a path of travel. Use it as a ceiling mount there, or choose an ADA-rated sconce for protruding-object areas.
11) What finishes does the Downtown 5 inch round LED flush mount come in?
Two: black and matte white, on an aluminum body. Both are offered in all three factory CCT settings, so black at 3000K (FM-W47205-30-BK) through white at 4000K (FM-W47205-40-WT) are all orderable combinations.
