WAC Lighting WAC-PD-37806 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the WAC Tic Toc PD-37806 pendant be hung on a sloped ceiling?
Yes. The Tic Toc PD-37806 is cable-hung from a round canopy and can be mounted on a slope ceiling, with the LED driver housed inside that canopy, so no remote driver location is needed. The canopy measures 6.5 inches across.
2) How high a ceiling can the Tic Toc PD-37806 pendant handle, and how short can it hang?
Adjustable from a 5 inch minimum overall height up to 137 inches, so it covers everything from a tight-to-ceiling install to a two-story foyer or a tall stairwell. The powered aircraft cable is supplied at 140 inches and gets cut down to the drop you need.
3) Will the Tic Toc pendant work on a covered porch or in a bathroom?
It is damp location rated and IP44, which covers a covered porch, soffit, or a bathroom outside the shower spray zone. It is not rated for wet locations, so skip any spot with direct rain exposure.
4) What dimmer do I need for the WAC PD-37806 LED pendant?
An electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. The integrated LED dims smoothly and continuously on ELV; a standard incandescent/forward-phase dimmer is the wrong control and will usually give you flicker or a limited range. Spec the ELV control with the fixture so the electrician does not have to go back.
5) Does the WAC Tic Toc PD-37806 pendant meet California Title 24?
Yes, it is listed as both Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, and it carries ETL and cETL listings for US and Canadian jurisdictions. It is not Energy Star rated, so if a utility rebate program requires Energy Star specifically this one will not qualify.
6) How much light does one 6.38 inch Tic Toc pendant put out, and how many do I need over an island?
Each one draws 15W at 120V and delivers 1198 lumens at 3000K with a flood distribution, and it throws light both up and down, so you get task light on the counter plus ambient bounce off the ceiling. At roughly 1200 lumens apiece, a typical island runs two or three spaced along the length rather than one.
7) What size hole in the ceiling does the Tic Toc pendant cover, and is it hardwired?
Hardwired to a standard ceiling outlet box, with a round 6.5 inch canopy that covers the box. The shade itself is 6.38 inches in diameter and 3.58 inches tall, so the fixture body is slightly narrower than the canopy above it.
8) Is the Tic Toc PD-37806 pendant ADA compliant for a commercial corridor?
No. It is not ADA compliant, which matters because a ceiling pendant hanging into a path of travel can violate protruding-object limits in a corridor or stairwell. Use it over counters, tables, and islands where it is out of the walking path.
9) What finish and color temperature does the PD-37806 Tic Toc pendant come in?
One configuration: brushed aluminum, 3000K. The housing is solid aluminum with a polycarbonate diffuser, so repeat orders across a building will match without you having to track finish codes. Order as PD-37806-AL.
