WAC Lighting WAC-FM-W52306 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Niveous 6 inch flush mount mount to an existing pancake junction box?
It will. The Niveous runs on 120V AC LED technology with no separate driver or transformer, so the canopy sits directly on a pancake box. The backplate is 5.5 inches across, which covers a standard round box opening, and the fixture can go on a ceiling or a wall.
2) What color temperatures does the WAC FM-W52306 come in, and which part number is which?
Three choices, all in a white finish: 2700K as FM-W52306-27-WT, 3000K as FM-W52306-WT, and 3500K as FM-W52306-35-WT. If you are matching existing warm incandescent-look fixtures, 2700K is the closest. 277V, 240V, or custom CCT builds are special order.
3) What dimmer works with the Niveous LED flush mount?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. The fixture dims smoothly and continuously on ELV, and it is not rated for standard incandescent or MLV dimmers. There is no remote driver, so the dimmer wires in line with the 120V feed.
4) Can I use this fixture in a closet and still meet California energy code?
Yes on both counts. The Niveous flush mount is rated for closet use and is CEC Title 24 compliant, and it also meets Title 20. For closet installs the surface mount profile matters, and this one is 6 inches across by 6 inches high.
5) Do the LEDs in the Niveous flush mount get replaced when they fail?
No. It is an integrated LED fixture, bulbs included and not user-replaceable, rated at an average 45,000 hours. For MRO planning that means no relamping cycle, but a full fixture swap at end of life. The light source is a group of mid-powered LEDs behind the opal globe, not a single lamp.
6) I need 277V for a commercial building. Will the standard FM-W52306 work?
The stocked FM-W52306 is 120V only. WAC offers 277V and 240V versions of the Niveous as a special order, along with custom color temperatures, so a commercial 277V circuit needs that special-order build rather than the standard part number.
7) What is the Niveous flush mount actually made of, and will it hold up outside?
Canopy is aluminum, with a white finish, and the shade is mouth blown etched opal glass. Aluminum plus the IP65 wet rating is what makes it suitable for exterior soffits and covered entries rather than just dry indoor ceilings.
