This class 2, UL & cUL listed enclosed electronic transformer is used to power Basics & Gemini Tape Light by WAC Lighting. Class 2 transformers are intrinsically safer transformers because they are compartmentalized to allow no greater than 5 amps of current to be drawn on each compartment. Enclosure cover is easy to remove. Transformer has knockouts with clips for line voltage wiring. Secondary low votlage wiring for class 2 transformers do not require conduit sheathed cable or clamp wiring techniques. This transformer has a low minimum load requirement of 1W to allow the use of LED products. May be dimmed using an electronic low voltage dimmer. Includes a 72in lead wire for Basics & Gemini, longer lead wires (T24-BS-EX2) are sold separately.

1) Will the WAC PS-24DC-U96R-BT power supply work with tape light other than WAC Basics and Gemini?
The PS-24DC-U96R-BT is built specifically for WAC Lighting Basics and Gemini tape light. It ships with a 72 inch lead wire terminated in the Basics and Gemini connector, so it plugs straight into those runs. Any other 24VDC tape would mean cutting off or adapting that factory connector, and the supply is only specified for the Basics and Gemini systems.
2) How much 24V tape light can a 96W remote power supply run?
Output is 96W at 24VDC, so size the run to stay at or under that, and leave headroom rather than loading to the exact ceiling. 4) What kind of dimmer do I need for WAC Basics and Gemini tape light on this power supply?

The unit is also listed as 0-10V dimmable. Putting a standard incandescent dimmer on the load side is the usual cause of flicker and dropout on these systems.
5) Will this 96W power supply fit inside a cabinet or above a ceiling without conduit for the low voltage side?

Because it is a Class 2 transformer, the secondary low voltage wiring does not require conduit, sheathed cable, or clamp wiring techniques, and non-metallic sheathed cable may be used in walls and ceilings. 6) Can this WAC power supply be mounted in a bathroom or a damp exterior soffit?

Both share the same 120-277VAC input and 24VDC output; the difference is capacity. The 96W unit, PS-24DC-U96R-BT, is the one to use for longer cove or under-cabinet runs or where you want headroom on a single home run. Choose the 60W where the load is small and enclosure space is tight. Either way the 1W minimum load means short LED runs still dim and start cleanly.
