1) What is the WAC Lighting 2000-PC-B concrete pour base used for?
The 2000-PC-B is a PVC sleeve you set into a concrete pour so a WAC Landscape Lighting 2 inch inground indicator light can drop in afterward. It is made for the 2 inch inground indicator light specifically, and the light seats snug in the base. A dense foam cap ships with it to keep wet concrete out of the cavity while the pour cures.
2) Will the WAC 2 inch inground indicator light fit any other size pour base?
No. The pour base is sized for 2 inch PVC and is intended only for the WAC Landscape 2 inch inground indicator light. A different diameter fixture will not seat correctly, so match the base diameter to the fixture diameter.
3) Can this pour base be used in a wet location like a driveway or walkway slab?
Yes. The assembly is UL and cUL listed and IP65 rated for wet locations, which is what you want for an inground light cast into an exterior slab, walkway or driveway apron.
4) Do I need a pour base if I'm setting a WAC 2 inch inground light in soil instead of concrete?
No. The 2000-PC-B is for installation in concrete only. Its job is to hold a clean void in the slab during the pour so the fixture can be installed later. For a soil or gravel installation you do not need this part.
5) Does the WAC 2000-PC-B pour base include the light fixture?
No, it is the base only. The PVC base and the foam concrete cap are what you get; the 2 inch inground indicator light is ordered separately and installed into the base after the concrete sets.
6) Is the foam cap reusable or do I throw it out after the pour?
The dense foam cap is there to block concrete from entering the base during the pour. Once the slab has cured you pull it out and install the light in the open cavity. Treat it as a pour-stage protector, not part of the finished assembly.
7) Will concrete or alkalinity damage the pour base over time?
The base is PVC, so it is not subject to the corrosion you would get from a ferrous sleeve cast into concrete and exposed to moisture. That is the reason WAC specifies PVC construction for this part.
