Modern Forms FH-W2203-44L-MB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the Modern Forms Corona flush mount fan be installed on a covered patio or porch?
Yes. The Corona FH-W2203 carries a Wet location rating, so it can go on covered outdoor patios and porches as well as indoors. Its listings cover UL, cUL, CSA, ETL and cETL. The blades are ABS rather than wood, which is what makes outdoor use practical.
2) What size Corona fan do I need, the 44 inch or the 52 inch?
The Corona comes as FH-W2203-44 and FH-W2203-52. The 44 inch version carries an 18.3 inch blade length at a 16 degree pitch across three blades and moves 4544 CFM, which suits bedrooms, media rooms and mid-size living spaces. Step up to the 52 inch for great rooms and wider covered patios where the air has to reach further.
3) Does the Corona ceiling fan come with a remote, or do I need to order a wall control?
A Bluetooth remote with a wall cradle (F-RCBT-WT) ships with the fan. A wall control is not included. If the room is wired for 3-way or 4-way switching, add the optional F-WCBT-WT wall control.
4) What color temperatures and finishes does the Corona FH-W2203 come in?
Color temperature is fixed at order time: 2700K, 3000K or 3500K. Finishes run Matte Black, Matte White, Brushed Nickel with Matte Black blades, Brushed Nickel with Matte White blades, Soft Brass with Matte Black blades, and Soft Brass with Matte White blades. Both the 44 and 52 inch sizes offer the full range, so you can standardize a whole building on one look and one light color.
5) Can the LED light on the Corona fan be dimmed, and can the bulb be changed later?
The light is dimmable through the Modern Forms app, the included remote, or the optional wall control. It is not a screw-in bulb: it is an LED module rated 50,000 hours, and the WAC Lighting luminaire is replaceable if it ever fails. Output is 1600 lumens at 90 CRI with a flood beam spread.
6) Does the Corona fan reverse for winter use, and how many speeds does it have?
The DC motor is reversible, so you can run it in reverse to push warm air down in heating season. Six speeds are available from the remote or app.
7) What smart home systems does the Modern Forms Corona fan work with?
Control runs through the Modern Forms app, with integration for Google Assistant, Alexa, SmartThings, Control4 and Josh AI. The included remote is Bluetooth, so basic control does not depend on the network being up.
8) Is the Corona FH-W2203 a 120V fan, and is it Energy Star rated?
It runs on standard 120V and is Energy Star rated. The DC motor is up to 70 percent more efficient than a comparable AC motor, which is the main reason it qualifies.
9) Is the Corona fan ADA compliant for a healthcare or public facility spec?
No. The Corona FH-W2203 is not ADA compliant. For projects where the fixture schedule calls out ADA compliance, it will not meet that line of the spec.
10) Where can I get the rough-in and mounting details for the Corona fan before installation?
Modern Forms publishes both a specification sheet and an installation guide for the FH-W2203, and both are available with the product. Those are the documents to pull for mounting box requirements and exact hanging dimensions before the electrician frames the box.
