1) Can the WAC Lighting FM-31414 Double Decker flush mount be installed on a wall instead of a ceiling?
Yes. The FM-31414 can be mounted on a ceiling or a wall in any orientation, so it works as a sconce over a vanity or in a corridor as well as a flush ceiling fixture. The body is aluminum with a glass diffuser, and the two-tier form (larger aged brass square over a smaller black profile with an etched opal glass diffuser) reads the same either way.
2) If I order the FM-31414 at 3000K, can the color temperature still be changed later on the job?
Yes. Field-selectable color temperature is built into the fixture: 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K. You can pre-select the temperature at order (the -27, -30, -35 and -40 part numbers) or set it in the field, so a mismatched ceiling on a punch list can be corrected without swapping the fixture.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC FM-31414 LED flush mount?
It runs on 120 VAC line voltage and dims on standard ELV or TRIAC dimmers: ELV takes it 100 to 10 percent, TRIAC 100 to 5 percent. If a project spec calls for 0-10V control, that is a separate special-order driver (LDS065M010AFE-LO1), measuring 3.4 x 1.2 x 0.5 inches. Plan the box and ceiling cavity for that module if you go that route.
4) Is the LED in the WAC Double Decker flush mount replaceable, and how long is it rated to last?
The LED is integral, built on WAC's ACLED driverless technology, so there is no lamp to change and no separate remote driver to find room for. Rated life is 50,000 hours. For a property manager, that is the maintenance trade: no relamping cycle, but the whole luminaire is the service item at end of life.
5) How do I specify the right FM-31414 part number when ordering?
The base model is FM-31414 and the suffix carries the color temperature plus the finish: FM-31414-27-BK/AB for 2700K, -30- for 3000K, -35- for 3500K and -40- for 4000K, all in Black/Aged Brass. Since Kelvin is field-adjustable anyway, the suffix sets how the fixture arrives rather than locking it in.
6) What finish does the WAC FM-31414 come in?
One finish combination only: black with aged brass. The larger upper square is aged brass and the smaller lower profile is black, with an etched opal glass diffuser between them.
