WAC Lighting H36-BK – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the WAC H36 track section work with 120V line voltage track heads?
Yes. The H36 is a 36 inch H-system track section rated at 120 volts, so it carries standard line voltage H-track heads. It is a hardwired component, not a plug-in or portable track.
2) Is the WAC H36 a complete track lighting system or just the track?
Track only. The H36 is a 36 inch H-track extension section and is not sold as a complete system, so heads, a power feed or end connector, and mounting hardware are ordered separately to finish the run.
3) Can I install WAC H36 track in a covered patio or bathroom?
No. The H36 is rated for interior, dry locations only. Covered exterior areas, shower zones, or anywhere exposed to damp conditions need a damp or wet rated fixture instead.
4) What finishes does the WAC H36 track come in so it matches my existing run?
Four finishes: Black (H36-BK), Brushed Nickel (H36-BN), Dark Bronze (H36-DB), and White (H36-WT). Match the finish code on the sections already installed so an extension blends with the rest of the run.
5) How much ceiling space does a 36 inch WAC H track section take up?
The section runs 36 inches long and the track profile itself measures 1.39 inches in the other two dimensions, so it sits tight to the ceiling and stays within a narrow channel. Useful when you are laying out a run against a soffit or beam.
6) Is WAC H36 track UL listed for commercial installs?
The H36 track section carries UL and cUL safety listings, which covers both US and Canadian jobs. It is also CEC listed. It is not Energy Star and not Title 24 compliant, so if your project is under California Title 24 the fixture side of the specification needs to carry that compliance.
7) What is WAC H track made of and will it sag over a long run?
The H36 is extruded aluminum, which keeps a 36 inch section light enough for ceiling mounting while holding the channel straight. For longer runs, support each section at its mounting points rather than relying on the joints between sections.
