1) Will the WAC Lighting LED009 framing projector fit my existing track, or do I need WAC L Track?
The LED009 framing projector is built as an L Track fixture, so it mounts to WAC L Track only. It won't drop into H, J, or any other manufacturer's track profile without the correct track adapter. It also runs as a low voltage head on a 120V system, and the head is not sold as a complete system, so the track sections, connectors, feed and power supply are separate line items you order alongside it.
2) How tight a beam can a WAC LED009 framing projector throw, and can I shape it to the artwork?
Beam spread on the LED009 is adjustable from 22 to 40 degrees, so one head covers everything from a tight spot on a single canvas to a wider wash across a grouping without swapping optics. That adjustable range is the reason to pick a framing projector over a fixed-beam track head when the gallery wall, display case or retail feature changes out regularly.
3) Can the WAC LED009 track head be used outdoors or in a covered walkway?
No. The LED009 framing projector is rated for dry locations and interior use only, so a covered exterior walkway, a parking structure, or any spot that sees humidity or blowing rain is out of scope for it. Specify an outdoor-rated head instead. Safety listings on the fixture are ETL and cETL.
4) Does the WAC LED009 framing projector meet Title 24 or ADA requirements for a California job?
No on both counts. The LED009 is not Title 24 compliant and is not ADA compliant, and it does not carry an Energy Star listing. On a California project with a Title 24 lighting budget, or on a corridor where protruding-objects rules apply, specify a compliant head instead. The listings it does carry are ETL and cETL.
5) What color temperatures and CRI options does the WAC LED009 framing projector come in?
Four color temperatures, 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K, each offered at either 85 CRI or 90 CRI, in black or white. Order the 90 CRI version for retail merchandising, artwork and anywhere color rendering is being judged; the 85 CRI version is the standard pick for general accent work. Ordering codes run L-LED009-27-BK through L-LED009-40-WT for 85 CRI, and pick up a leading 9 for the high CRI heads, as in L-LED009-930-WT.
6) Will one WAC LED009 head be bright enough to light a piece of art, or do I need several?
Each LED009 head delivers 245 lumens at 22 watts from a single integrated LED module. That output is sized for accent and object lighting, one head per painting, sign or display niche, not for lighting a room. On a long gallery wall plan on a head per feature rather than expecting one projector to carry the run.
7) Is the WAC LED009 track head dimmable, and can I put it on the same dimmer as the rest of the track run?
Dimming is supported on the LED009. It draws 22 watts total per head, which is the number to add up when you size the dimmer and load the circuit for a full run of heads. Match the dimmer to the low voltage power supply feeding the track, not to the fixture itself, since the head is a low voltage track fitting.
8) Does the LED lamp in the WAC LED009 get replaced, or is the whole head disposable?
The LED009 uses an integrated LED module rather than a socketed lamp, so there is no bulb to stock or change out on a maintenance cart. It's rated at 60,000 hours average life. For an MRO or facilities program, that means the spare you carry is a complete head, and the finish and color temperature you standardize on today is what you need to match years from now, so record the full order code on the asset sheet.
9) Is the WAC LED009 housing metal or plastic, and will the black finish hold up in a retail space?
Housing on the LED009 framing projector is aluminum, finished in black or white. Aluminum is what lets the head shed heat from the 22 watt LED module without a fan, and it's the reason these hold their shape on an accent head that gets aimed and re-aimed as displays change.
