1) Will the WAC LED009 framing projector fit standard H track?
The LED009 is built as an H track head, so it mounts to WAC's H (single-circuit) track system. It is not an L or J series head, and it won't seat in Halo or Juno track without the correct system. Fixture voltage is 120V and it draws 22W total.
2) What does a framing projector track head actually do that a standard spot doesn't?
A framing projector shapes the beam to the object instead of just pointing at it. The LED009 has internal shutters and an adjustable 22 to 40 degree beam spread, so you can crop the light to the edges of a painting, a sign, or a display case and keep spill off the wall around it. A standard adjustable spot only gives you a round pool of light at a fixed beam angle. Retail, gallery, and museum work is where this pays off.
3) How much light does the WAC LED009 put out, and is 245 lumens enough for artwork?
Output is 245 lumens at 22W. That is deliberately low for a framing projector because the optics crop and concentrate the beam onto a small target, so the surface brightness on a framed piece is far higher than the raw lumen number suggests. It is an accent fixture for art, signage, and merchandise, not a general ambient or task light. If you need to light a room, spec a standard track head instead.
4) Do I need to buy a bulb or a separate transformer for the WAC LED009?
No lamp to buy. The LED module is integrated and included, one per fixture. It is a low voltage head with the driver handled within the fixture on a 120V circuit. Note the head is sold on its own, not as a complete system, so track sections, connectors, and the feed are separate line items on your order.
5) How much clearance do I need below the track for the LED009 head?
Allow for a fixture 16.75 inches tall with a 4.25 inch diameter body and 13.38 inches of length. Framing projectors are physically long because of the optical assembly, so in a low ceiling or a tight soffit this head can hang noticeably further into the space than a typical gimbal spot. Check your sightlines before committing.
6) Can the WAC LED009 be used outdoors or in a covered entry?
No. It carries a dry location rating and is listed for interior use only, so keep it out of exterior canopies, covered patios, and bathrooms with steam exposure. Safety listings are ETL and cETL.
7) Does the WAC LED009 meet California Title 24 or Energy Star for my project?
No on both counts. The LED009 is not Title 24 compliant and is not Energy Star certified, and it is not ADA compliant. If your specification requires Title 24 registration for the lighting package, this head will not satisfy it and you need a JA8 listed alternative.
8) What color temperatures and finishes does the WAC LED009 come in?
Four color temperatures, 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K, each in black or white, and each in a standard 85 CRI version or a 90 CRI version. That is 16 combinations. For gallery and retail display work where color rendering on merchandise matters, take the 90 CRI option, for example H-LED009-927-BK for 2700K in black.
9) Can I aim the LED009 at a piece hung low on a wall, or does it only point down?
It supports reversible mounting and the beam spread adjusts through 22 to 40 degrees, so the head can be oriented and the crop tuned for pieces at different heights and sizes along a wall. That flexibility is why these get spec'd in galleries where the art rotates.
10) How long will the LED last before I have to send a lift up to change it?
Rated life is 60,000 hours. On a retail schedule of roughly 12 hours a day that is well over a decade of service, which is the point of an integrated module on a high track in a gallery or lobby, you are not sending a lift up for relamping. The housing is aluminum.
