1) Does the WL-LED100-RD LED step light need a transformer or low-voltage power supply?
No. The LEDme WL-LED100-RD is a 120V line-voltage step and wall light, so it wires straight to a standard 120V branch circuit with no transformer or low-voltage feed. That is the difference between this and a 12V landscape step light, which has to run off a transformer.
2) Why is this WAC step light red instead of white light?
The WL-LED100-RD is the red-output version of the LEDme horizontal step light. Red is specified where white light would wash out night vision or spill where it is not wanted, such as theater and auditorium aisles, observatory and marine settings, and stair markings on exterior walkways. If you want general white illumination on a stair, order a different color temperature in the LEDme WL-LED100 family rather than the RD.
3) What finishes does the WAC Lighting WL-LED100-RD step light come in?
Six finishes: black on aluminum, bronze on aluminum, graphite on aluminum, white on aluminum, brushed nickel, and stainless steel. On coastal or pool-deck work the stainless steel version (WL-LED100-RD-SS) is the usual pick; the painted aluminum finishes are the ones that match most exterior stair and rail packages.
4) Can the WAC LEDme WL-LED100 be used on a wall, not just in a stair riser?
Yes. It is built as a horizontal step and wall light, so the same fixture works in a stair riser, along a corridor baseboard, or mounted higher on a wall for a low wash of light down a walkway. The light throw is horizontal, which is what keeps it out of the eye at walking height.
5) If I am standardizing step lights across a property, can I mix finishes on the same model?
Yes, the WL-LED100-RD is the same fixture across all six finishes, with only the suffix changing (BK black, BZ bronze, GH graphite, WT white, BN brushed nickel, SS stainless). That means one rough-in and one spec for the whole property, with the finish chosen per building. Order by the full part number including the finish suffix so the right one ships.
6) Is the WL-LED100-RD rated for outdoor use?
