1) Will the WAC JHT-809 track head fit my existing J-type track?
Yes. The JHT-809 is built as a J Track Fixture, so it mounts to J-series (Juno-compatible) track. It will not drop into H or L track systems without the matching adapter for those systems.
2) Does the WAC JHT-809 come with a bulb?
No lamp is included. You order the MR16 halogen separately: it takes a GY5.3 two-pin base, one lamp per head, up to 50 watts.
3) It's called low voltage, so do I need a separate transformer for this track head?
No separate remote transformer is needed. The head runs off 120V line-voltage J track and steps the power down internally for the 12V MR16 lamp, which is why it's catalogued as low voltage with a 120 volt product voltage. Total load is 50 watts per head, which is the number to use when sizing your track circuit.
4) Can I put these WAC low voltage track heads in a covered outdoor walkway or a bathroom over a shower?
No. The JHT-809 is rated for dry interior locations only. Damp or wet spots (covered exterior soffits, shower zones, unconditioned spaces with condensation) need a damp- or wet-listed fixture instead.
5) Is this WAC track head UL listed for a commercial install?
It carries UL and cUL listings, so it's accepted for both US and Canadian work. It is also CEC listed. It is not Energy Star rated and not Title 24 compliant, which matters if you're doing California residential lighting where Title 24 compliant fixtures are required.
6) How much space does the JHT-809 head take up on the track?
It's a compact head: 6 inches in overall height, 3.13 inches long, and 2.39 inches in diameter. Max height stays at 6 inches, so figure that as your clearance below the track when the head is aimed straight down.
