WAC Lighting 5111-SNOOT-BBR – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the WAC Lighting 5111-SNOOT snoot actually do on a landscape accent light?
The 5111-SNOOT is a snoot accessory for WAC Landscape mini accent lights. It extends past the lens to shield the source, so the beam is directed where you aim it and the fixture itself is far less visible from a viewing angle. It is an add-on shroud, not a light fixture, so it mounts to a mini accent light you already have or are ordering.
2) What finishes does the WAC 5111-SNOOT snoot come in, and how do I match my existing heads?
Three finishes: Bronze on Brass (5111-SNOOT-BBR), Bronze on Aluminum (5111-SNOOT-BZ), and Black on Aluminum (5111-SNOOT-BK). Match the base metal to your fixture, not just the color. If your mini accent heads are brass bodies, take the BBR; if they are the aluminum-bodied heads, the BZ or BK will match both the color and the substrate so the two parts weather at the same rate.
3) I'm getting glare complaints from uplights on a condo walkway. Does adding a snoot fix that?
That is exactly the problem a snoot addresses. On WAC Landscape mini accent heads, the 5111-SNOOT shrouds the lens so residents walking past do not see the lamp directly, while the light still reaches the facade or tree you are grazing. It is a retrofit accessory, so you can add them to heads that are already installed rather than replacing fixtures.
4) How many WAC 5111-SNOOT snoots do I need for a landscape lighting job?
One per fixture head. The snoot is a single-head accessory, so count the mini accent lights you want shielded and order that quantity in the matching finish. It is common to snoot only the heads aimed toward windows, walkways, or a neighbor's property and leave the rest open.
