WAC Lighting WAC-6042-27 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the WAC Tiki 6042-27 a line voltage fixture or does it run off a landscape transformer?
The Tiki 6042-27 is a 12V low voltage fixture, so it runs off a landscape transformer rather than being wired directly to 120V. Plan on a transformer sized for the total wattage of the run plus headroom, and low voltage landscape cable out to the fixture locations. If your site is already wired for line voltage path lights, this one is not a direct swap without adding a transformer.
2) What finishes does the WAC Lighting Tiki 6042-27 path light come in?
Two finishes, both over an aluminum body: Black on Aluminum, ordered as 6042-27BK, and Bronze on Aluminum, ordered as 6042-27BZ. Bronze is the usual pick when the fixture sits in mulch or planting beds and you want it to disappear; black reads cleaner against hardscape, walkway edging, and modern exterior trim.
3) What color temperature is the Tiki 6042-27 landscape light, and can I get it in a cooler white?
The Tiki 6042-27 is a 2700K fixture in both the black and bronze versions. That is a warm white, which is what most residential landscape and pathway runs use so the light blends with warm-toned house fixtures rather than looking blue against the planting. If you need a cooler temperature, you would need to look at a different WAC Landscape path light model, because 2700K is the only color temperature this model is built in.
4) What is the Tiki 6042-27 actually used for in a landscape layout?
It is a path and area light, meaning it is meant to sit on a stem in beds or along walkways and push light down and outward onto the surface, not up onto a wall or tree. Use it for walkway edges, driveway approaches, steps, and bed borders where you want the ground lit and the source shielded. For grazing a facade or uplighting specimen plants you want an accent or wall wash fixture instead.
