WAC Lighting WAC-6042-30 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the WAC Tiki 6042-30 a line voltage fixture or does it need a landscape transformer?
It's a 12V fixture, so it runs off a low voltage landscape transformer rather than 120V line voltage. Plan on a transformer sized for the total connected load of the run plus the usual low voltage cable and connectors, and don't wire it directly to a 120V circuit.
2) What finishes does the WAC Lighting Tiki 6042-30 path light come in?
Two: black on aluminum (part 6042-30BK) and bronze on aluminum (part 6042-30BZ). Both are the same 3000K Tiki fixture, so you can mix finishes across a property and keep the light output consistent.
3) What color temperature is the WAC Lighting Tiki 6042-30, and will it match other 3000K landscape fixtures?
The Tiki 6042-30 is 3000K, a warm white. That's the most common landscape color temperature, so it will read consistently alongside other 3000K path, well, and accent lights in the same scheme. If the rest of your site is 2700K, expect the Tiki to look slightly cooler.
4) Is the Tiki 6042-30 a path light or an accent/spot fixture?
It's a path and area light: the Tiki is built to wash light down and out across walkways, steps, and planting beds rather than to aim a beam at a wall or tree. For uplighting architecture or specimen trees you want an accent or well light instead, and for grazing a wall surface a surface-mounted wall fixture is the better choice.
5) What exact part number do I order for the bronze WAC Tiki path light?
Bronze on aluminum is 6042-30BZ; black on aluminum is 6042-30BK. The 6042-30 base number covers the 3000K Tiki, and the two-letter suffix is the finish, so the finish code is what you need to add on the purchase order.
