WAC Lighting 5000-TCP-BK – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the WAC Lighting 5000-TCP tree mounting kit used for?
The 5000-TCP is a tree mount kit for WAC Landscape accent and wall wash fixtures. It gives you a mounting point on a trunk or limb instead of a ground stake, which is how you get downlighting from above or cross-lighting through a canopy rather than only uplighting from grade.
2) Will the 5000-TCP tree mount work with any brand of landscape light?
No. It is built for WAC Landscape accent and wall wash fixtures. If you are mounting another manufacturer's accent light, use that brand's own tree mount or a compatible knuckle, since thread and knuckle interfaces are not standardized across landscape lines.
3) What finishes does the WAC 5000-TCP tree mount come in, and what are the part numbers?
Two finishes, both on aluminum: black as 5000-TCP-BK and bronze as 5000-TCP-BZ. Match the kit finish to the fixture you are mounting so the hardware disappears against the trunk, bronze being the usual choice on bark and black where the fixture body is black.
4) Is the tree mount kit a light fixture, or do I order the fixture separately?
It is mounting hardware only. There is no lamp, driver, or lens in the 5000-TCP, so the accent or wall wash fixture and its low voltage feed are separate line items on the order.
5) Can I standardize on one tree mount across a property with both accent and wall wash heads?
Yes, that is the point of the 5000-TCP. One kit covers both the accent and wall wash fixtures in the WAC Landscape line, so a property manager or grounds crew can stock a single mount in black or bronze instead of a separate part per head type.
