Metallics JSWN14D – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Why use a nylon washer instead of a steel one on an electrical job?
Nylon is non-conductive and non-corroding, so the JSWN14D is what you reach for when you need to isolate a fastener from a panel, enclosure, or dissimilar metal rather than just spread load. Steel flat washers carry current and can set up galvanic corrosion against aluminum; nylon does neither. Where the joint has to take real clamp load or torque, use a steel washer instead.
2) How many washers come in a jar of Metallics JSWN14D?
Each jar holds 100 of the 1/4 x 1/2 nylon flat washers. The jar pack is the ordering unit, which suits van stock or a shop bin rather than a single-fixture repair.
3) What part number do I order for Metallics 1/4 inch nylon flat washers?
Order Metallics JSWN14D. That single part number covers the 1/4 x 1/2 nylon flat washer supplied in a 100-piece jar; there are no finish or size options to specify with it.
