Metallics JW128SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size bolt does the Metallics JW128SS fender washer fit?
The JW128SS is a 1/2 inch fender washer with a 1-1/4 inch outside diameter, so it takes a 1/2 inch bolt or threaded rod. The oversized OD spreads the load well past the hole, which is why fender washers get used on sheet metal, strut, and soft or oversized-hole substrates where a standard flat washer would pull through.
2) Are Metallics JW128SS fender washers stainless steel or plated?
Stainless steel, not plated. That matters on exterior conduit runs, rooftop equipment, wet locations, and anywhere a zinc-plated washer would bleed rust down a finished surface. If the bolt and nut are stainless too, the whole assembly stays galvanically matched.
3) How many washers come in a jar of Metallics JW128SS?
100 washers per jar, packed in a screw-top jar rather than a bag. For an MRO crib or a service van, the jar is the practical part: it stacks on a shelf, stays closed in a truck bin, and the whole jar weighs 1.38 lbs.
4) Can I use the Metallics JW128SS stainless fender washer outdoors or in a damp location?
Yes. Stainless construction is the reason to pick this one over a zinc-plated washer for outdoor conduit supports, rooftop and parking-structure work, pool and locker rooms, food-service areas, and coastal jobs. Pair it with stainless hardware to avoid mixing metals at the joint.
5) What size shelf or bin space does a jar of Metallics JW128SS washers take up?
The jar measures 3 in length by 3 in width by 3.6 in height and weighs 1.38 lbs, so it fits a standard small parts bin or a van drawer without repacking.
6) Is the JW128SS sold as a single washer or only by the jar?
It ships as one jar of 100 washers under a single part number, JW128SS. There is no loose-piece or single-washer option, so order by the jar and plan quantities in hundreds.
