Metallics JSWBR14 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use a 1/4 inch brass flat washer for grounding and bonding connections?
The JSWBR14 is specified for metal to metal applications, which is the typical use for a brass flat washer on an electrical assembly: under a nut or lug on a 1/4 inch bolt where you want a conductive, corrosion-resistant bearing surface rather than a plated steel one. It is a plain flat washer, so it provides no locking or tooth bite on its own; pair it with a lock washer or serrated nut if the connection needs vibration resistance.
2) Are these washers solid brass or just brass plated?
Brass is the material of the washer itself on the JSWBR14, not a plating over steel. That matters where you need a non-magnetic, corrosion-resistant washer, or where you are bolting to brass or copper hardware and want to avoid mixing dissimilar metals at the joint.
3) How many washers come in a jar of Metallics JSWBR14?
They ship 100 to a jar. The jar pack is the handier format for a service van or a shop bin, since you can pour out a handful without a bag splitting. Total packed weight runs 0.27 lbs.
