Metallics JW124 Washers 1/4 X 1/2 Fender St-zn (Jar 100)

The JW124 is a 1/4 inch fender washer, so it goes over 1/4-20 bolts, screws, and threaded rod. The 1/2 inch figure is the washer's outside diameter, which spreads the load wider than a standard 1/4 inch flat washer would.

A fender washer has a much larger outside diameter relative to its hole, so it bridges oversized or slotted holes and keeps a bolt head from pulling through thin material. That is why they get used on sheet metal enclosures, strut, drywall, and panel work. A standard 1/4 inch flat washer has far less bearing surface and will dish or pull through the same hole. The JW124 gives you the 1/4 inch bore with a 1/2 inch outside diameter.

They're zinc plated steel, which handles indoor and normally dry or occasionally damp locations fine. For continuous outdoor exposure, washdown, coastal, or corrosive environments, zinc plating will eventually sacrifice and the steel will rust, so stainless is the better call there.

JW124 is one part number, one configuration: the 1/4 inch bore, 1/2 inch outside diameter zinc plated steel fender washer in a 100-count jar.
