Williams Brothers Classic Series Fire Extinguisher Cabinets

The WB Classic Series Cabinets are an economical and practical choice of cabinet. Their sturdy construction out of 18-gauge galvanneal steel makes them ideal for installation in parking garages, warehouses, construction sites, high vandalism and theft areas. Cabinets always remain lock and allow emergency access through breaking the score acrylic.

Williams Brothers C100 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the Williams Brothers Classic Series cabinet recess into the wall or mount on the surface?
Surface mount as supplied, so it hangs on the face of the wall and needs no wall cavity. That is why it suits masonry and concrete walls in parking garages and warehouses where you cannot cut in a recess. If you want it semi or fully recessed, a recessing frame with 1/2 inch trim is offered as an option.
2) How does someone get the extinguisher out in an emergency if the fire extinguisher cabinet is locked?
The cabinet stays locked at all times and access is by breaking the scored acrylic panel. A breaker bar and chain are attached to the cabinet for that purpose, and a UV resistant emergency decal marks it. A keyed alike cylinder lock with two keys is included for routine inspection access, so staff can open it for the monthly check without breaking the panel.
3) Will the Williams Brothers Classic Series cabinet hold up in a parking garage or a high vandalism area?
That is what it is built for. Door and tub are 18 gauge galvanneal steel, and the locked-at-all-times design with break-glass access is aimed at parking garages, warehouses, construction sites, and areas with vandalism and theft problems. Galvanneal takes powder coat well, which matters in damp garage air; standard finish is powder coat white, with powder coat red as an option. For coastal or washdown environments there is a 304 stainless steel version with a #4 finish.
4) If I am standardizing extinguisher cabinets across a whole building, can they all use the same key?
They can. Each Classic Series cabinet ships with a keyed alike cylinder lock and two keys, so a facility ordering multiple cabinets can carry one key for the set rather than a ring per floor. That is the practical reason property managers and MRO buyers standardize on one cabinet family across a portfolio: same key, same door, same decal, one inspection routine.
5) How far does the Williams Brothers Classic Series cabinet stick out from the wall in a corridor?
Surface mounted, the cabinet projects its full depth: 6 inches on the C-100, 6 1/2 inches on the C-999, and 9 inches on the C-104. That depth is the number to check against your corridor clearance before committing to surface mount. If the projection is a problem, the recessing frame option with 1/2 inch trim sets the cabinet into the wall instead.
6) Can I get FIRE EXTINGUISHER lettering on the cabinet door, and vertical or horizontal?
Die cut lettering is an add-on option on the Classic Series in red, white, or black, in vertical, horizontal, or Type A layouts. There is also an international extinguisher symbol in red or black. Vertical lettering is the common pick on the tall narrow C-100 and C-999 doors; horizontal reads better on the wider C-104. The UV resistant emergency decal is included regardless of whether you add lettering.
