Wiremold V2003 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the Wiremold V2003 part number and how does it relate to the 2003 clip?
V2003 is the manufacturer part number for the ivory-finished version of the 2003 steel supporting clip. The V prefix is Wiremold's ivory designation, so if your spec or takeoff calls out 2003 and the run is ivory raceway, V2003 is the number to order.
2) Does the Wiremold 2003 clip come with screws or anchors?
No fasteners are included. The clip is the steel bracket only, so plan on supplying the mounting hardware to suit the substrate: drywall anchors or toggles on hollow wall, tapcons or plastic anchors in masonry, sheet metal screws into steel stud or decking. Order the anchors with the clips so the crew is not held up on site.
3) What does the Wiremold 2003 supporting clip actually do in a raceway run?
The Wiremold 2003 is a steel supporting clip used as a raceway fitting, holding surface metal raceway or cable to the mounting surface along a run. You fasten the clip to the wall, ceiling or structure, then snap the raceway into it, which keeps the run straight and supported between fittings and boxes.
4) Will the ivory clip match the raceway already installed on my walls?
Only if that raceway is ivory. The 2003 clip ships in ivory finish only, so it blends with ivory Wiremold surface raceway and ivory devices. On brown, gray, or white runs the clip will read as a different color unless it sits behind the raceway where it is hidden by the base and cover.
5) Where are Wiremold 2003 clips made? I have a Buy American requirement on this project.
Country of origin is the United States. If your contract carries a domestic-sourcing clause, cite the 2003 clip as US origin on your submittal and attach the Wiremold spec sheet for the fitting as backup documentation.
6) Is a 100 pack of supporting clips practical for a single office raceway job, or is it a stocking item?
Bulk packs of 100 suit MRO stockrooms and crews running raceway repeatedly, because supports are consumed at regular intervals along every run and on multiple openings or walls. For one short run in a single office you will use only a handful, so the balance becomes shelf stock. Property management and facility shops typically keep a pack on hand for the same reason they keep boxes of anchors.
7) Is the Wiremold supporting clip metal or plastic, and will it hold up in an industrial space?
Steel, not plastic. That is the reason it is specified in warehouses, plant floors, and back-of-house areas where a plastic clip can fatigue or get knocked loose. The finish is ivory over the steel body, so for exposed runs in finished spaces it still reads as a trim component rather than bare metal.
