1) Can I put this Accentra rim exit device on a wood door?
No. The 7100 Series rim device is not rated for wood door applications. Plan on hollow metal or an aluminum/glass opening with the correct stile width.
2) Does the 48 inch Accentra 7100 exit device need to be ordered left hand or right hand?
Handing isn't a factor. The 7100 Series rim device is non-handed, so one part number covers either swing. You set it up at install; the Pullman latchbolt works with the device as shipped.
3) Is a lever or pull included with the Accentra 7100, or does it only open from the inside?
Exit only. The device latches and releases from the push side and comes with no outside trim, so there's no key or lever access from the exterior unless you add trim. Accentra/Yale exit device trim is a separate order.
4) Is the Accentra 7100 a narrow stile device for an aluminum storefront door?
No, it's a wide stile pushpad device. On a narrow stile aluminum door the chassis and pad won't fit the stile, so you'd need a narrow stile rim device for that opening.

No. The Accentra 7100 Series 48 inch rim device is not fire rated, so it belongs on non-rated openings only. For a 48 inch fire rated door, the Delaney F9000 Series heavy duty rim device is fire rated and Grade 1, in a stainless steel finish. Both are rim devices for 48 inch doors, so the door and frame layout is comparable; the rating is the difference that decides the opening.
6) Does the Accentra 7100 rim device take a small format interchangeable core?
Both cylinder formats are supported, large format and small format, so an SFIC housing works if that's what your facility is keyed to. Note the cylinder and the trim that carries it are ordered separately from the exit-only device.
7) Should I use a rim exit device or a vertical rod device on this opening?
A rim device like the 7100 latches into a strike on the frame at the lock edge, which makes it the simple choice for a single door or for a pair with a center mullion. If you have a pair with no mullion, a rim device has nothing to latch into, and you need a vertical rod device instead.
