1) Will the Accentra 197 jimmy proof deadlock work on an outswinging door?
Not with the angle strike. The 197 ships standard with an angled strike, which mounts to the frame for an inswinging door. For an outswinging door you order the flat strike version, model 197F. Both strike types are orderable on the 197, so pick the one that matches how the door swings before you order.
2) Does the Accentra 197 deadlock need to be ordered left hand or right hand?
No handing to specify. The 197 is non-handed, so the same lock goes on a left or right hand door. The only ordering choice that depends on the opening is the strike: angle strike for an inswinging door, flat strike (197F) for an outswinging one.
3) What backset does the Accentra 197 jimmy proof deadlock use, and will it hit my existing bore?
2-3/8 inch backset, the shallower of the two standard residential/light commercial backsets (the other being 2-3/4 inch). Measure from the door edge to the center of the existing cylinder hole. If that comes out at 2-3/4 inch, the 197 as specified will not line up.
4) Is the Accentra 197 a double cylinder lock, and does it take a key on both sides?
