Metallics 1001KOSGSS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size knockout does the Metallics 1001KOSGSS seal fit?
It's the 1 inch size, so it closes an unused 1 inch knockout in a box, panel, or enclosure. Order the matching size for the hole you're filling, since a seal one trade size off won't seat.
2) Is the 1001KOSGSS knockout seal stainless steel?
Yes, it's 316 stainless steel, the grade electricians reach for in washdown, coastal, food plant, and other corrosive environments where plated steel plugs would rust out.
3) Does the Metallics 1 inch K-O seal come with a gasket, or do I order that separately?
The gasket is included. The 1001KOSGSS ships as a seal and gasket set, so you have what you need to close the knockout and seal it against moisture and dust in one part number.
4) What do I use to fill an unused 1 inch knockout in an outdoor enclosure?
A gasketed knockout seal like the Metallics 1001KOSGSS is the right part for that. It plugs the open 1 inch knockout and the gasket keeps water and debris out of the enclosure. In corrosive or wet locations the 316 stainless construction holds up where a plated steel or plastic plug would not.
5) Is the Metallics 1001KOSGSS made in the USA?
Yes, the 1 inch 316 stainless knockout seal and gasket is USA made, which matters if your project carries a domestic sourcing requirement on materials.
