1) Can these be used on a federally funded or Buy American job?
No. The JFMP49 screws are not Buy American compliant and not ARRA compliant, with multiple countries of origin. If your contract carries a domestic sourcing clause, these will not satisfy it.
2) Is a 10-32 screw the same as 10-24, and will one work in place of the other?
No, and they are not interchangeable. The JFMP49 is 10-32, meaning 32 threads per inch (the UNF fine pitch), while 10-24 is the coarse version. Same shank diameter, different pitch, so forcing a 10-32 into a 10-24 tapped hole will damage the threads. Check the tap on the existing hole before you buy.
3) What size Phillips driver do I need for the Metallics JFMP49 screws?
A #2 Phillips. The recess is 0.198 in. diameter, 0.124 in. deep and 0.032 in. wide, which is the standard #2 geometry, so a worn #1 bit will cam out and strip the head.
