Additional Notes
- Other sizes and quantities available by request | Hardness and tensile strength standards are offered as guides only for stainless machine screws. There is currently no national standard for these performance requirements for stainless machine screws.
Features
- Stainless steel machine screws are used in applications which require general atmospheric corrosion resistance, in food processing machinery and refrigeration equipment.
- Stainless is also superior to steel in withstanding some elevation in application operating temperature while maintaining its strength.
- 18-8 Stainless Material
- Flat head with Phillips Drive
- 10-32 Diameter, 2" Length

Metallics JFMP93SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will a 10-32 machine screw thread into my existing device yoke or box tapped holes?
The Metallics JFMP93SS is a 10-32 UNF thread, 32 threads per inch, cut to ANSI/ASME B1.1. That is the standard tapped size on receptacle and switch yokes and on most box mounting ears, so it mates with 10-32 tapped holes directly. At 2 inches long it is a deep-set screw, intended for boxes recessed behind thick plaster, tile or panel build-up rather than flush mounting.
2) Do these screws meet a dimensional spec I can put on a submittal?
Head and thread geometry follow ASME B18.6.3-1998 for the flat head machine screw dimensions, and the thread conforms to ANSI/ASME B1.1. Material standard is SAE. Note for public work: the JFMP93SS is not Buy American compliant and not ARRA compliant, with country of origin listed as multiple.
3) Is 2 inches too long for a standard device box mounting?
For a flush box with a standard plaster ring, yes, it is longer than you need, and the excess thread will bottom out or stand proud behind the yoke. The 2 inch length earns its place where the device sits well forward of the box: thick tile, stacked mud rings, deep panel or millwork build-up. For ordinary flush mounting, a shorter 10-32 flat head from the same FM and FMP series is the right call.
4) Will the flat head sit flush in a countersunk hole?
Yes, that is what the flat head is for. The head measures 0.333 to 0.362 in. across and 0.098 to 0.116 in. high, so it seats into an 82 degree countersink and finishes level with the surface. If you need the head to bear on top of an unprepared flat surface instead, use a pan or round head screw, not this one.
5) What size Phillips driver do I need for these screws?
A #2 Phillips. The recess is 0.198 in. in diameter and 0.124 in. deep, which is the standard #2 geometry. A #1 bit will cam out and chew the recess, a #3 will not seat.
6) Are these screws suitable for damp, washdown or refrigeration environments?
Yes. The screws are 18-8 stainless, which is specified for general atmospheric corrosion resistance and is used in food processing machinery and refrigeration equipment. 18-8 also holds its strength better than plain steel as operating temperature rises, so it suits mechanical rooms and equipment enclosures as well as damp exterior-adjacent work.
7) How many Metallics JFMP93SS screws come in a pack?
They ship 100 to a jar, and the jar is the minimum order quantity. Plan the count per jar if you are pulling material for a multi-unit rough-in.
8) What trades use these Metallics flat head machine screws?
They are stocked for the electrical, plumbing, and heating and air conditioning trades. Typical use is fastening devices, plates, brackets and equipment panels where a countersunk head and corrosion resistant stainless are both wanted.
