Metallics HCT21 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will a white nylon cable tie hold up outdoors or in sunlight?
The HCT21 is standard white nylon, not a UV-stabilized black tie. Nylon in white pigment degrades under prolonged sunlight, so for exterior runs, rooftops, or exposed service entrances choose a UV-rated black weather-resistant tie instead. White nylon is the right pick for indoor panels, ceiling spaces, and concealed work.
2) What does heavy duty mean on a cable tie, and when do I need it instead of a standard tie?
Heavy duty refers to a thicker, wider strap than a standard tie, which raises the tensile hold and resists stretching once the bundle is loaded. The HCT21 is a heavy duty tie, so it suits weight-bearing bundles, supporting cable off structure, and anywhere a light-duty tie would creep or snap. For loose dressing inside a panel, a standard-duty tie is the cheaper and easier choice.
3) Does the Metallics HCT21 come in more than one size or color?
The HCT21 is a single configuration: 24 inch, heavy duty, white nylon. If you need a different length or a UV-rated color, that's a different Metallics part number, not an option on the HCT21.
