Viega 25200 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use a MegaPress carbon steel elbow on copper or PEX?
No. The 25200 is a carbon steel press fitting made for black iron and other carbon steel pipe. Copper tube and PEX need their own press systems, since the sealing element and press profile differ.
2) What does Smart Connect do on the Viega 25200 elbow?
Smart Connect is the feature in the fitting's sealing element that lets an unpressed joint leak during pressure testing, so an installer can find the connection that was missed before the system is closed in. It is built into the 25200 MegaPress elbow.
3) Is the Viega 25200 made in the USA?
Yes, the 25200 MegaPress elbow is made in the USA, which matters on public and institutional jobs carrying domestic sourcing requirements.
