No. The 26510 is carbon steel, which suits black iron and carbon steel service lines, not copper tube and not potable water. For copper you need a copper press system fitting; mixing a carbon steel elbow onto copper also sets up a dissimilar metal joint you do not want in a wet line.
2) What does Smart Connect mean on a MegaPress fitting, and does it change how I install it?
Smart Connect is Viega's unpressed-connection feature: the sealing element is formed so an unpressed fitting leaks intentionally during pressure test, letting you find the joint you missed instead of discovering it after the ceiling closes. It does not change the install sequence on the 26510, you still press both 4 inch ends, but it does mean a pressure test is the way to verify the run.
