The 5353SST6 is a 90 degree connector for 3/4 inch liquidtight flexible metallic conduit. It terminates the flex and turns the run 90 degrees at a box or enclosure, so you don't need a separate elbow. If your run is a different trade size, this one only takes 3/4 inch flex.

It's built from 316 stainless steel, which is the grade specified for chloride exposure: food and beverage washdown areas, marine and coastal installs, water treatment, and chemical process areas. That's the reason to pay for 316 over a plated steel or zinc die cast connector, which will pit and bleed rust in the same spot.

Yes. The 5353SST6 uses a Duraplated ground cone that bites the conduit's metal core to carry the equipment ground through the connection. That's what lets the flex itself serve as part of the grounding path rather than relying on the fitting body alone.

Use the 90 when you're tight to a wall, a motor housing, or a panel and you can't give the conduit room to bend without exceeding its minimum radius. The 5353SST6 makes the turn right at the enclosure. If you have clearance, a straight connector plus a gentle loop of flex is usually easier to dress and lets the conduit absorb vibration. Both land 3/4 inch flex.

Dissimilar metal contact is a real consideration with stainless hardware. Where a 316 connector lands on a galvanized or aluminum enclosure in a wet environment, the usual practice is an isolating or sealing washer at the hub and keeping the joint sealed so moisture can't sit in the couple. In an all-stainless enclosure, which is where most 316 fittings get specified, it isn't an issue.

There's no paint to chip. The body is solid 316 stainless with a metallic finish, so the corrosion resistance runs through the material rather than sitting on the surface. Field cuts, wrench marks, and scuffs during install don't expose a vulnerable base metal the way they do on a plated fitting.
