Metallics SCE0075 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the SCE0075 clamp mount to standard strut channel?
Yes, it is a strut clamp, built to fasten 3/4 inch EMT directly to channel rather than to a flat surface or a beam. You bolt it into the channel with a strut nut and bolt, which are not part of the clamp itself, so order those separately if your run does not already have hardware staged.
2) Is the Metallics SCE0075 conduit clamp galvanized, and where can it be used?
It is electrogalvanized (the EG suffix in the part name). Electrogalvanized plating is a thin zinc coating meant for dry indoor and protected locations. For wet exterior runs, rooftops, car decks, or wash-down areas, specify a hot-dip galvanized or stainless strut clamp instead.
3) What is the exact part number to order a 3/4 inch EMT strut clamp from Metallics?
Metallics part number SCE0075 is the 3/4 inch EMT strut clamp in electrogalvanized finish. That one number covers the item; there are no finish or size options to pick on top of it.
4) Can I use a strut clamp instead of a one-hole strap for a 3/4 inch EMT run?
Only where you are running on channel. A one-hole or two-hole strap anchors conduit to a wall, deck, or structure; a strut clamp like the SCE0075 grips the 3/4 inch EMT and bolts into the slot of strut channel. On long multi-run racks the channel-and-clamp approach is what lets you add, space, and re-pull conduits without drilling new anchors for each one.
