Metallics CTKTT1UV – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What lengths of cable ties come in the Metallics CTKTT1UV kit?
The CTKTT1UV is an assortment kit of 4 inch, 7 inch and 11 inch cable ties, so you get short ties for bundling a few conductors and the 11 inch size for larger bundles or conduit runs out of one box.
2) Are the ties in the Metallics CTKTT1UV kit rated for outdoor or sunlight exposure?
They are the black UV-stabilized type, which is the colour and material combination used for outdoor and sun-exposed work. Natural (white) nylon ties should be kept to indoor, shielded locations because they chalk and break down in sunlight.
3) Is the Metallics cable tie kit a single part number or do I pick the length?
It ships as one part number, CTKTT1UV, with all three tie lengths included. There is nothing to specify on the order beyond the model, which makes it a simple stocking item for a service van or an MRO shelf.
4) What kind of work is this black UV cable tie assortment meant for?
General electrical bundling and support: tying off conductors in panels and j-boxes, dressing low-voltage and control wiring, strapping cable to strut or hangers, and exterior runs where sunlight is a factor. It is a consumable electrical supply item rather than a fastener rated for structural support.
