Metallics MWRC58 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is a wire rope clip like the Metallics MWRC58 used for on an electrical job?
A wire rope clip forms the end termination on steel cable: you loop the rope back on itself and the clip's saddle and U-bolt clamp the two legs together. On electrical work that is typically guy wire for poles, messenger or support cable, and suspended equipment or fixture supports. The MWRC58 handles 5/8 inch cable and is galvanized for exterior runs.
2) Do I need more than one 5/8 wire rope clip per cable termination?
Yes. Wire rope clips are installed in multiples on a single termination, with the saddle on the live side of the rope and the U-bolt on the dead end, spaced along the tail. The MWRC58 is sold as an individual 5/8 inch clip, so order the full quantity your termination calls for rather than one per connection.
