Metallics MWRC78 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How many MWRC78 clips do I need per rope termination?
Wire rope clips are always installed in multiples, never one alone, and larger diameters take more. For 7/8 inch rope you should plan on ordering several MWRC78 clips per termination and follow the rope or clip manufacturer's spacing and torque instructions, with the saddle on the live side of the rope.
2) What is a wire rope clip used for on an electrical job?
A wire rope clip forms a loop or termination in cable by clamping the dead end back against the live end. On electrical work that usually means guy wires, messenger strand, and overhead support cable. The Metallics MWRC78 is the 7/8 inch size in galvanized finish.
3) What part number do I order for the Metallics 7/8 galvanized wire rope clip?
Order it as Metallics MWRC78. That is the 7/8 inch galvanized clip and it is the only configuration under that number, so there is no finish or size option to specify.
