P x FTG means one end is a press socket (P) that takes 1/2 inch pipe, and the other end is a fitting-end (FTG) sized to slip into another press fitting's socket. That's what makes it a street elbow: you can press it directly into the next fitting without a short nipple of pipe between them. Both ends are 1/2 inch.

Use the street 90 when you need to turn immediately off another fitting or a valve socket and there isn't room for a cut length of pipe. A standard P x P elbow needs pipe stubbed into both ends; the 95030 has one press socket and one fitting end, so it nests straight into the adjacent fitting. In tight mechanical rooms and against-wall drops that saves a joint and a press cycle.

The fitting measures 3.189 inches long, 2.736 inches wide and 1.264 inches high, so lay out roughly that envelope for the body itself. Remember the press tool jaw needs its own swing space around the socket, which is usually the limiting factor in a tight chase rather than the elbow.

The elbow ships as a complete press fitting with its sealing element in the socket. What you supply is the press tool with the correct 1/2 inch MegaPress jaw, a clean square-cut pipe end, and deburring. No threads, solder, or dope.

Smart Connect is the feature that lets an unpressed joint leak visibly during pressure testing, so an overlooked connection shows up on the test instead of after the walls close. It does not change the install sequence: mark insertion depth, seat the pipe fully, and press. It is a verification aid, not a substitute for pressing every joint.
