The Viega 95155 MegaPress tee is a 1-1/2 inch x 1-1/2 inch x 1 inch reducing tee. The run is 1-1/2 inch on both ends and the branch takes 1 inch, so it drops a 1 inch branch off a 1-1/2 inch line without an extra reducing coupling.

All three are press. The connection type is P1 x P2 x P3, meaning press on the two 1-1/2 inch run ends and press on the 1 inch branch. No threading, grooving or welding at any of the three ports.

MegaPress fittings press onto black and galvanized carbon steel pipe, and the 95155 is the 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 x 1 inch tee in that system. The fitting body itself is 304 stainless steel, so the fitting does not rely on the pipe material for its own corrosion resistance. Sizing is to the pipe's nominal size, not tube OD.

Not with the 95155. Because all three ports are press connections, the work is cut, deburr, mark depth, and press. No threading machine, no cutting oil, and no hot work permit, which is the usual reason this gets chosen over a threaded or welded tee in occupied buildings. You do need the matching Viega press tool and jaw sized for the ports.

The tee weighs 1.631 lbs on its own. Add the pipe and contents when you size hangers, and support the 1-1/2 inch run close to the fitting so the pressed joints are not carrying the branch load.
