P x FTG tells you the two ends are different. The P end is a press socket that accepts 2 inch pipe inside it, and the FTG end is sized to slip into a 1-1/2 inch press fitting socket rather than receive pipe. So the 95385 reduces from a 2 inch press connection to a 1-1/2 inch fitting-takeoff end. If you need a socket on both ends, a P x P reducer is the part to order instead.
