American Standard Cadet Touchless Chair Height Elongated Toilet Less Seat - AMS-215AA709

No seat is included. The Cadet Touchless chair height elongated toilet, model 215AA709.020, ships less seat, so you need to order an elongated seat separately to finish the install. Batteries are included with the flush electronics: 3 AAA for the sensor and 4 AA for the control module.

The sensor flush is aimed at hygiene, and there is a manual backup: hold the actuator button about two seconds and it flushes even if the batteries are dead, so a tenant is never stuck with a toilet that won't flush. Battery life runs about one year at an average of 12 flushes a day, so budget one battery change per unit annually. Note American Standard classes the Cadet Touchless as a residential fixture, not a commercial one, so for a high-traffic public restroom look at a flushometer bowl instead.

Chair height puts the bowl rim closer to the height of a normal chair seat, so getting on and off takes less bending. Paired with the elongated bowl on the Cadet Touchless, it is the configuration property managers usually spec for accessible and senior units over a standard-height round bowl. Remember the finished seat height depends on the seat you add, since the toilet ships without one.

It is an ultra-low consumption bowl that uses about 20 percent less water per flush than a regular toilet, without a drop in flush performance. Across a building of fixtures that is where the water bill savings show up.

EverClean is a glaze on the china surface that inhibits growth of stain and odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew on the surface itself. It cuts down how fast the bowl stains between cleanings, but it is not a disinfectant and does not replace routine cleaning of the fixture.
