American Standard 2771V418C.020 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What rough opening do I need for the American Standard Evolution 60 x 36 drop-in tub?
The Evolution deep soak drop-in measures 60 x 36 x 21-1/2 inches nominal (1524 x 914 x 546 mm). Shipping/overall figures run a bit larger at 62.56 inches long, 38.56 wide and 23.62 high, so frame the deck opening to the 60 x 36 nominal footprint and leave room for the flange when you set it in.
2) Does the drain come with the American Standard Evolution deep soak drop-in tub?
No. The Deep Soak Max Drain has to be ordered separately. Budget for it on the job, because a standard waste and overflow will not give you the deep soak water level this tub is built around.
3) Can the Evolution 60 x 36 tub be installed as an undermount instead of a drop-in?
Yes, the Evolution deep soak tub is listed with an undermount option as well as drop-in. Undermounting means the deck material (stone, tile, solid surface) laps the rim, so the substrate has to carry the tub and you still need access to the drain connection.
4) What does the EverClean combination spa system on this American Standard tub include?
It is a combination system, meaning both whirlpool jets and air bath in one tub, with EverClean surface treatment on the system. The tub itself also has dual molded-in armrests. Plan for a dedicated electrical circuit and an access panel at the pump location as part of the rough-in.
5) Is the Evolution combination spa tub suitable for a hotel or multi-family commercial install?
American Standard classifies the Evolution deep soak combination spa system as a residential, luxury-tier product. For commercial-duty specs in hospitality or institutional work, check the spec against your project requirements before writing it into the submittal.
6) What finish does the Evolution 60 x 36 deep soak tub come in?
White only, ordered as part number 2771V418C.020. There is no alternate color on this model, so it pairs with standard white fixtures in a matched bathroom group.
