No below-deck control box. The Paradigm Selectronic is a self-contained, battery-powered faucet with the mixing built in above deck, so everything sits at the faucet body. That matters in tight cabinets and in ADA knee-space installs where there is nowhere to hang a box, and it keeps service out of the cabinet. All serviceable parts are reachable from the top.

Battery-powered. It ships with a CR-P2 lithium battery already installed in the faucet, rated for 5 years of service. No transformer, no junction box, no electrician on the job. The Paradigm Selectronic is a single-hole faucet, but American Standard offers an optional deck plate that covers 4-inch (102 mm) or 8-inch (203 mm) centers. Temperature is user-adjustable. The faucet has dual inlets for hot and cold and an above-deck mixing handle that is removable. Yes, it runs an auto purge that periodically flushes stagnant water from the fixture. That is worth specifying in buildings with low-use restrooms, seasonal occupancy, or water management plans where sitting water in a rarely used lavatory is a concern.

Service is done from above the deck. The faucet installs from the top and the serviceable parts, including the battery, are accessible at the fixture rather than in the cabinet.
