American Standard M962961-2240A – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the American Standard M962961 plug button and screw used for?
It's the small fastener kit that caps a faucet handle: a plug button plus the screw underneath it. American Standard lists it as a faucet repair part, so it's what you order when the decorative button has popped off or been lost and the handle screw is exposed or missing.
2) Does the American Standard plug button kit come with the screw, or do I have to buy that separately?
Both pieces come together. The kit is the plug button and the screw, so you are not sourcing the handle screw on its own.
3) What part number do I give my supplier for the oil rubbed bronze American Standard plug button and screw?
Order by American Standard part number M962961-2240A. The M962961 is the plug button and screw repair part and the 2240A suffix is the oil rubbed bronze finish.
4) I manage a building with dozens of oil rubbed bronze American Standard faucets. Is this the kind of part worth stocking on the truck?
Yes. Plug buttons are the piece that vanishes first on a faucet handle, and once it is gone the handle screw backs out and the handle loosens. Keeping a few of the M962961-2240A buttons in oil rubbed bronze on hand means a two minute fix instead of a trim mismatch or a whole handle replacement.
How fast can I get the American Standard M962961-2240A delivered?
