American Standard 282008.02 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the Retrospect 282008 sink top come with the pedestal or legs, or do I order those separately?
The top is the basin only. It's designed to be used with Retrospect Collection console table legs, which are a separate order. Plan on sourcing the legs at the same time or you'll have a bowl with nothing to stand on.
2) How much wall space and projection do I need for this Retrospect pedestal lavatory?
Nominal dimensions are 27 x 19-3/4 x 36 inches (686 x 502 x 914 mm) for the assembled fixture. In a narrow powder room or a corridor-side wall, check the 19-3/4 inch figure against your clear floor path before committing.
3) Is the bowl deep enough for hand washing in a commercial restroom?
The bowl measures 15-1/2 inches wide, 12 inches front to back, and 6-1/8 inches deep (394 x 305 x 156 mm). That's a full-size lavatory bowl, deeper than typical shallow decorative basins, so splash-out at a public hand-wash station is manageable.
4) Is this a standard height lavatory or a taller one?
It's built to American Standard's Right Height, which puts the rim higher than a traditional pedestal lav for more comfortable use while standing. The assembled nominal height is 36 inches. Worth knowing before you set the supply and waste rough-ins.
5) What part number do I quote for the Retrospect 8-inch widespread pedestal top?
Order American Standard 282008.02, the white 8 inch widespread Retrospect top. The .02 suffix is the white color code, and it's the only configuration offered for this top.
6) Where can I get the dimensioned rough-in drawing for this sink top?
American Standard publishes a spec sheet for the 282008 with the dimensioned layout, and it's linked in the product specifications. Use it to confirm drilling centers and waste location against your drawing before the wall closes up.
