American Standard 328008.02 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How big is the bowl on the Townsend widespread pedestal lavatory?
The bowl measures 19 inches (485 mm) wide, 12-3/4 inches (324 mm) front to back, and 5 inches (128 mm) deep. That 5 inch depth is shallow enough to keep splashing in mind if you are specifying it for a high-traffic washroom.
2) What is the Townsend 328008 sink top made of, and does it have an overflow?
Fine fireclay construction, with a rear overflow in the bowl. Because the overflow is at the rear, pair it with a drain assembly that has an overflow port.
3) Do I need to buy mounting hardware for the Townsend 328008 lavatory top?
A mounting kit ships with the lavatory. You still need to supply the faucet, drain, supplies and P-trap to finish the rough-in.
4) Is the Townsend pedestal lavatory a comfort-height sink?
American Standard builds the Townsend pedestal at its Right Height, which sets the rim higher than a traditional pedestal for more comfortable use, a common ask on ADA-minded remodels and senior housing.
5) What color does the Townsend 328008 pedestal sink top come in?
White only, ordered as part number 328008.02. If you are matching other fixtures in the room, the Townsend lavatory is styled to coordinate with the rest of the Townsend fixture and fitting line.
6) Is there anywhere to set soap and accessories on this pedestal sink, or is it all bowl?
The Townsend top has a faucet, soap and accessory ledge with a wide shelf area behind the bowl, which is what property managers usually ask about on pedestal lavatories since there is no countertop.
7) Is this a round or rectangular pedestal lavatory?
Rectangular, in a classic style. The squared basin and ledge read more transitional than the oval pedestals common in older apartment baths, so it will not visually match a round-bowl fixture on an adjacent opening.
