Blanco 221206 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which Blanco sink models does the 221206 sink grid fit?
The Blanco 221206 grid is custom-fitted to the BLANCO PRECIS 32 inch SUPER SINGLE kitchen sink, specifically models 440149, 442935, 441299, 440151, 440147, 441478, 441297 and 440150. It is cut to that bowl's shape, so it is not a universal grid and will not sit correctly in a different Blanco bowl or another brand's sink.
2) Will a bottom grid work with a rear drain sink, or does it block the drain?
The grid has a rear drain opening cut into it, so the drain stays accessible with the grid in place and water passes underneath rather than pooling. That is why it has to match the specific Precis Super Single bowl, the opening is positioned for that sink's rear drain location.
3) Is this a bottom grid or a floating grid that sits at the rim?
The 221206 is a bottom grid, it is designed to sit on the floor of the bowl and lets water drain underneath. Blanco's floating grids are a separate accessory that rides higher in the sink for prep and drying over the bowl. If you want a second working level rather than bowl protection, the floating grid is the piece you want, not this one.
4) What material is the 221206 sink grid and will it rust in a commercial kitchen?
It is stainless steel, described as corrosion-resistant, and it is the only finish the 221206 is built in. For property managers and MRO buyers standardizing across units, that means no coating to chip off over time the way a coated wire rack does.
5) What else can I add to a Blanco Precis sink besides the grid?
The 221206 grid is part of a Blanco accessory range that also includes floating grids, colanders and cutting boards, all built to work with the sink bowl. Buying them to the same bowl model keeps the fit right across the group.
6) Can I use the Blanco 221206 as a drying rack?
Yes. Besides protecting the bowl, it doubles as an in-sink drying rack for glassware, plates and utensils, since water drains through the grid and out underneath rather than sitting on the pieces.
