Bobrick 3706 25 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How deep does the wall need to be to install the Bobrick B-3706 napkin/tampon vendor?
Wall depth decides which way you mount it. The B-3706 uses an adjustable beveled flange: fully recessed in a 6 inch deep wall, or semi-recessed in walls 4 to 6 inches deep. The cabinet itself is 8-1/16 inches deep, so anything shallower than 6 inches has to be run semi-recessed with the flange projecting.
2) Can the Bobrick B-3706 be converted to free vend for a school menstrual product mandate?
Yes. The coin mechanism converts in the field between 25 cent, 50 cent, token, and free vend. For free vend, order Bobrick part No. 3706-250; for token operation, order part No. 3706-166. Both are separate conversion kits, not included with the vendor.
3) Will the Bobrick B-3706 key to the other Bobrick washroom accessories in my building?
It has two tumbler door locks keyed like other Bobrick accessories, so one key can serve the restroom fleet. The coin box is separately keyed, which lets janitorial staff restock without having access to the cash.
4) Is the B-3706 vendor ADA compliant for a public restroom?
The listed specs call it ADA compliant, and the operation backs that up: push-button, under 5 lb of force, with no grasping, pinching or twisting of the wrist required. Mounting height still has to be set per the reach ranges for your opening.
5) How much product does the B-3706 hold before it needs restocking?
Each load is 30 tampons and 20 sanitary napkins, run on two separate selections. There are no spring weights to reset when refilling, and an empty product indicator automatically blocks the coin slot so a user cannot pay for a selection that is out.
6) Does the Bobrick B-3706 need power or batteries?
No. It is a mechanical coin vendor, so no outlet, conduit, or battery change is involved. That keeps the rough-in to a wall cavity only.
7) What coins does the B-3706 accept, and what happens if someone puts in the wrong one?
One U.S. or Canadian quarter per vend, through a single-coin slot that is the reason the mechanism resists jamming. Pennies, nickels and dimes bypass the mechanism and fall into the product tray, and a push-button coin return cancels a selection and drops the quarter back into the same tray.
8) Will the finish on this Bobrick vendor hold up in a high traffic public washroom?
Exposed surfaces are type 304 satin-finish stainless steel, which is the standard Bobrick uses across its washroom line, so it matches adjacent paper and soap units and takes routine cleaning without showing wear the way a painted steel cabinet does.
