That's the only thickness the CO-100 mortise chassis is built for: 1-3/4 inches, which is standard commercial door thickness. If your openings are thicker or thinner, this isn't the lock. It ships field reversible, so you set the hand at the door rather than ordering handed, and the standard strike is a 1-1/4 x 4-7/8 inch square corner box strike with a 1-3/16 inch lip.

No cylinder is included. The CO-100 is ordered less cylinder in three prefixes: B for 7-pin SFIC (Schlage, Falcon and competitive OEM cores), J for Schlage 6-pin FSIC, and L for Schlage or Falcon 6-pin key-in-lever. The fourth option, P, is the Schlage standard conventional cylinder. If you run an existing master key system, pick the prefix that matches the core you already stock and key it into the system you have.

Office function means the outside lever can be locked or unlocked, so staff can leave the room open during business hours and secure it with a PIN or key when they leave. For a supply closet, equipment room or an exterior gate you usually want the classroom/storeroom function instead, which keeps the outside lever locked at all times. Office is the right pick on interior offices, reception and perimeter doors that need to change state through the day.

Up to 500 unique PIN codes of 3 to 6 digits, all stored on the lock itself. It's a standalone device with no network connection and no software required. An administrator adds or deletes codes, or changes preferences and functions, right at the keypad on the door. That's the trade-off versus a networked system: nothing to wire or host, but every change happens at each opening.

Grade 1, heavy duty, and the mortise chassis meets or exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.13 Series 1000 Grade 1. It also carries UL 10C, UL 294, UL Canada, FCC Part 15 and ADA. The CO-100 family covers outdoor applications like pool gates and breezeways, but the full outdoor ANSI/BHMA A156.25 rating on the CO Series applies to the 70 function, and this one is office function. For a gate you also generally want the lever locked at all times, which is the classroom/storeroom function, not office. Office function belongs on interior and perimeter doors that need to be unlocked during the day.

It takes Schlage cylinders across the full range: 7-pin SFIC, 6-pin FSIC, 6-pin key-in-lever, and the Schlage standard conventional cylinder. The 7-pin SFIC option also accepts Falcon and competitive OEM cores, and the levers are built for compatibility with many other OEM cylinders. So you can pull the CO-100 into the master key system you already run rather than starting a second one alongside it.

The Schlage CO-100 electronic mortise lock is built for a 1-3/4 inch door. For openings outside that, the Alarm Lock DL3500CR Trilogy electronic mortise lock covers a 1-5/8 to 1-7/8 inch door thickness range and is Grade 1, and the DL2700CR Trilogy T2 covers the same 1-5/8 to 1-7/8 inch range in a weatherproof body. Both are keypad mortise locks, so the credential method stays the same while the door thickness changes.

The CO-100 is an office function mortise lock operated by 3-6 digit PIN codes on a keypad. Where the opening only needs a key and lever, the Cal-Royal NM8050 is a Grade 1 heavy duty office/entrance mortise lockset with an auxiliary deadlatch on a 1-3/4 inch door, and the Hager 3850E is a Grade 1 office mortise lock with lever and escutcheon on a 2-3/4 inch backset, non-keyed. Both hold the office function without batteries or programming.

The CO-100 is a standalone keypad lock managing up to 500 PIN codes at the door. They solve the opening differently. The CO-100 is battery operated on four AA cells and runs standalone at the door with no wiring. Four AA batteries at the lock, no wiring to the opening. Battery life runs up to two years and there's a status indicator so you get warning before it dies. Mechanical key override is standard, so a dead battery doesn't lock you out of the room as long as you've ordered a cylinder for it.

Six lever styles (Athens, Latitude, Longitude, Rhodes, Sparta and Tubular) across eight finishes: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 612 satin bronze, 619 satin nickel, 625 bright chrome, 626 satin chrome, 626AM satin chrome antimicrobial and 643E aged bronze. Rhodes and Sparta are the same lever families Schlage puts on its mechanical mortise locks, so a keypad opening can sit alongside mechanical ones without looking like an add-on. The 626AM antimicrobial finish is the one to specify in healthcare.

Four things: handing, cylinder prefix, lever style and finish. Handing is a required selection even though the lock is field reversible, so you can order it set up as RH, LH, RHR, LHR or simply field reversible. Cylinder prefix is B, J, L or P, and no cylinder ships in the box on the less-cylinder options. Then pick one of six levers and one of eight finishes.

If you need credentials beyond a PIN, the TownSteel FME-2000 is a Grade 1 heavy duty mortise lockset with RFID in classroom function for 1-3/4 inch doors, and the Dormakaba Saffire LX-I-M002 adds RFID plus Bluetooth mobile access. The Accentra nexTouch NTM623-NR uses a capacitive touchscreen keypad with cylinder override instead of a mechanical keypad. Alarm Lock's Trilogy DL3500CR is another Grade 1 keypad mortise lock, but it's classroom function on 1-5/8 to 1-7/8 inch doors, so check your door thickness before swapping. Key override is standard on the CO-100 and works with Schlage cylinders as well as other popular brands. The BEST 45HZ EZ Series is an electronic keypad mortise lock with key override function, and the Accentra NTM623-NR nexTouch Generation 3 mortise lock uses a capacitive touchscreen keypad with cylinder override and no deadbolt. All three keep a keyed path into the door if the electronics are dead.

The CO-100 as configured is office function, which allows the lever to be left unlocked for business hours. The CO-100 body here is office function. They match the family, not the function. The CO-100 is a keyed and keypad-credentialed office lock. The Schlage L0170 is a Grade 1 heavy duty non-keyed half dummy trim in the L Series for a 1-3/4 inch door, so it operates nothing. The Schlage PM010 is a Grade 1 non-keyed passage latch mortise lock for a 1-3/4 inch door, which latches but never locks. Use those on the pull-side and free-passage doors of the same run, not as a swap for a credentialed opening.

The CO-100 office function lock does not carry a deadbolt. Code capacity tracks how many distinct people carry credentials on the opening, so match it to the tenant or staff count rather than the door.

Neither one is a lockset. The CO-100 is a complete office function mortise lock with lever trim and a keypad reader. The Kaba Ilco 185 Series is a deadbolt function mortise lock supplied with no handing, and the Sargent 4874 is a double cylinder mortise deadbolt on a 2-3/4 inch backset. Those are bolt-only bodies with no latch and no lever, so they secure a door but do not operate it.

The CO-100 runs on four AA batteries with up to two years of life and a status indicator. The Dormakaba PowerPlex P2066 Series mortise lock in the PowerPlex 2000 Series is the battery-free counterpart in a pushbutton mortise format. If wiring the frame is acceptable, the BEST 45HW is a wired electromechanical mortise lock with 12V/24V operation and heavy duty construction.

The CO-100 uses a projecting lever with a keypad escutcheon. They are different openings. The CO-100 is a commercial Grade 1 heavy duty electronic mortise lock. The Baldwin 6301 is an entry/apartment mortise lock body on a 2-1/2 inch backset for a door 1-3/4 inch and over, offered knob by knob or lever by lever, and the Baldwin 6310 is the entry/storeroom version on the same 2-1/2 inch backset for 1-3/8 inch and over. The 2-1/2 inch backset alone means the door prep does not carry across.

Both are Grade 1 mortise locks on 1-3/4 inch doors and both take Schlage cylinders. The difference is credential management: the CO-100 runs on 500 PIN codes you issue and revoke at the keypad, which cuts how many keys you have to hand out and chase down. A mechanical lock such as the Schlage PM010 passage mortise lock has no code layer at all. If turnover is the problem, the keypad is what solves it; if the door just needs to latch, the mechanical lock is less to maintain.
