TOTO TS221E#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the difference between the TOTO Connelly TS221E and TS221EV tub spouts?
The V in TS221EV means the spout has an integrated diverter, which pulls water up to a showerhead or handshower. The plain TS221E is a tub-fill spout only, no diverter. The diverter version is also slightly taller at 3.75 inches versus 3-3/16 inches on the non-diverter spout. Both come in Polished Chrome and Brushed Nickel.
2) How does the Connelly wall tub spout connect to the supply?
It lands on a 1/2 inch NPT connection, so the rough-in needs a 1/2 inch female NPT nipple at the wall. The spout ships with an adapter, and only one wall opening is required.
3) How far does the TOTO Connelly tub spout stick out from the wall?
Reach is 7-3/16 inches, with an overall length of 7-13/16 inches and a width of 2-11/16 inches. That reach matters for clearing the tub rim, measure from the finished wall to the inside edge of the tub before you commit.
4) Do I get a valve or trim with the Connelly wall tub spout?
No. What ships is the spout and an adapter only. You still need to order the Connelly tub/shower valve trim and the rough-in valve separately, plus a showerhead or handshower if you are using the diverter version.
5) Will this spout match the rest of my Connelly trim?
Yes, it is part of TOTO's Connelly collection and is finished to coordinate with the other Connelly pieces. Match the finish code: #CP is Polished Chrome, #BN is Brushed Nickel.
6) Is the Connelly tub spout solid brass or plated plastic?
Solid brass body with a corrosion-free plated finish. The non-diverter version weighs 2.6 lb and the diverter version 3 lb, which is consistent with a cast brass spout rather than a zinc or plastic shell. That durability is the reason it holds up in hotel and multi-family turns.
7) Can I use this tub spout on a deck or tub rim instead of the wall?
No. It is a wall mounted spout only and is built around a single 1/2 inch NPT wall connection. For a deck-mount application you need a deck-mount tub filler with the appropriate riser or rim-mount body.
8) Why does the water come out as a clear stream instead of an aerated one?
The Connelly spout uses laminar flow, which delivers a solid, evenly distributed column of water rather than an air-mixed aerated stream. Laminar outlets fill a tub quietly and are commonly specified in healthcare settings for that reason. There is one flow setting on the spout.
9) Where can I get the rough-in and parts information for the TS221E?
TOTO publishes a spec sheet, an installation sheet, and a manual/parts sheet for both the TS221E and the TS221EV, and all six are posted with the product. Pull the one matching your model before you set the rough-in nipple depth.
